JOOLL - Concept in short

With a JOOLL you can now get a super nice bike/cargo bike from your employer in a similar way to a free phone or car. Employees at +3000 Danish workplaces have already got it – maybe even your colleague 🙂

The concept is simple and straight forward. Your employer provides a bike for you and you only pay a small monthly tax deducted on your paycheck by company payroll.

– And service and insurance are included so you get more freedom in your daily life.

That way, you pay much less than if you had bought the bike yourself.

Finally, a green employee benefit that makes sense and that you can use as much as you like in private without worry.

JOOLL Company Bike – 2 models:

1. “JOOLL” as a wage supplement

Employee is simply taxed on the salary of the monthly lease payment

2. ”JOOLL Hybrid”

Both employee and company contributes and simple taxation of the monthly lease price over the salary for the employee.

JOOLL has the backing of

JOOLL is founded by the 2 x Anders – respectively Anders Westergaard & Anders Torp.

The idea for JOOLL came when Westergaard was looking at a job offer with a salary package. He asked his entrepreneur friend Torp if he knew of a concept where you could get a leased bike through your workplace – just like we know it from a free company car. Westergaard didn’t want to own a car or be taxed by one, but really just wanted a really good premium electric bike. It made sense to save the expense of owning or leasing a car and that it would easily cost over 1000 DKK per month to park it. A car wouldn’t make the family’s daily chores any easier either, but a bike would. And preferably two actually. For example, an electric cargo bike where the kids and groceries could be in and a 2 wheeler if the kids weren’t coming along. A bike they would have anyway, but would rather have it through work and thus be taxed per month. This way the family would not have a large cash outlay on the bike, but could instead get it through work. The employer could then have a favourable lease agreement including insurance and service plan.

Westergaard asked Torp for a place where this could be obtained and thus the idea was born. Both could see all the benefits from both an employee’s point of view and Torp, given his past from an employer’s point of view, as it would be a relatively cheap expenditure for an employee benefit with huge value for both health, mood, climate and not least the saved costs of fuel, parking fees and lost time in traffic jams.
